The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting (MBA/ACC) is designed to develop or enhance the financial management skills necessary to function effectively within private businesses, non-profit organizations, and public agencies.

The program concentrates on managing human and fiscal resources within the structure, culture, and mission of any organization.

The curriculum addresses advanced costing techniques, accounting theory, accounting information systems, issues in corporate taxation, executive management, budgeting, human resources management, organizational development, conflict management, strategic planning, information management, and decision making, among other subjects.

The program is structured with five primary goals in mind:

  1. To provide students with a broad based understanding of the management and leadership skills necessary for successful achievement of organizational goals;
  2. To prepare students to recognize and respond to the implications of change on organizational stakeholders, e.g., employees, consumers/clients, vendors, and society;
  3. To educate students about the impact of technology on every aspect of an organization, and how technology creates its own change;
  4. To prepare students to function as financial consultants and internal change agents to lead and inspire organizational leadership toward a more productive future; and,
  5. To prepare students to manage human and financial resources effectively, efficiently, and ethically, within a global environment.
